LEAP, much like a legal publisher, acts as a conduit for information provided by our AI and verifiers. This information serves as a helpful guide, but the ultimate decision lies with you, the legal practitioner.

All AI features can be accessed from within LEAP.

• LawY: Select a matter. Then click the 'LawY - AI Legal Assistant' button located in your correspondence pane.

• Matter AI: Select the matter of which you want to ask questions on. Click the 'New Chat - Matter AI' button located in your correspondence pane.

• Generator: Ensure your LEAP is up to date on version 2.5. Click the 'Forms and Precedents' button. Go to the 'Generator' tab.

• AutoTime: Please contact your Client Relationship Manager or Help Desk if you'd like to have this enabled.

Yes, all AI tools - LawY, Matter AI and Generator are available in LEAP Conveyancer.

LawY does not extract or access information from your legal matters, granting you complete authority over the information you choose to share. While the use of PII (Personally Identifiable Information) should be avoided, any inadvertent disclosure is safeguarded through the substitution of placeholders in verified answers to shield your law firm. Only the verified answers are subsequently included in LawY's knowledge base, ensuring that your sensitive data remains securely within your control.

A qualified lawyer from the LawY panel will review your question and the AI answer. The lawyer will then make necessary corrections and mark your question as 'Verified'. Verification is also included in your subscription at no extra cost.

Verification timeframes can vary depending on the volume of questions and availability of verifiers. We are aiming to average turnaround times of 2 business days or less across all areas of law.

You will get a notification in LEAP to inform you that the answer to your question has been verified. You can also open LawY to check on the status of your question.

The information in LawY is continuously reviewed for accuracy and relevance as questions are regularly verified by our expert panel of local lawyers. Outdated information is frequently updated and replaced with current information on this rolling basis. 

Currently, this cannot be done within LawY if the question is a generic legal question. However, if your question is about matter specific information or files you can add the files into that specific matter and Matter AI will provide you a response based on that information or documents.

There isn’t a single method to get LawY to draft your correspondence. You can use multiple questions in a conversation or include all of your requirements in a single question. We suggest you test out both methods to see which one produces your preferred results.

To access Matter AI add-in for Word, select the Add-Ins on the navigation toolbar in Word. This will display Matter AI. Select this to open Matter AI Add-In for Word.

As Matter AI produces answers specific to the matter you’re working in, its best to be within the relevant matter before asking questions. For more generic legal questions, LawY would be the correct app to use. However, you will need to select a matter to ask a question, to ensure it falls under the correct matter type.

Yes. Matter AI can quickly search for contact information, critical dates, and appointments within your matter. It will intelligently scan documents, emails, and attachments, including performing OCR on images, scanned PDFs, and handwritten notes. Whether you have 10 or over 10,000 documents, it provides detailed responses with specific file references in seconds.

Yes you can. From your matter, simply select one or more documents that you would like to compare or analyse. Our advanced AI algorithms will then analyse them to find differences and inconsistencies. Matter AI can even identify your LEAP matters folder structure. You can ask it to summarise the contents of an entire folder.

Matter AI provides answers specific to the matter you are in and it does not currently provide information from across matters. However, you could use Generator to search for files located across all matters saved in LEAP. 

You have the option to do both. You can ask Matter AI to provide answers based on specific document(s) or if you simply just ask the question in Matter AI it will scan all information and documents and provide a relevant response.

Being a cloud based solution, the software and all client data is stored on LEAP Services, which are built on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. AWS is a leading cloud services platform, providing database storage, content delivery and a range of other functions. The textual content of documents from all matters is extracted and used for searching purposes at the time of asking a question. All data is hosted by LEAP in the AWS environment. Documents are not provided to any third party.

Matter AI can do this if you upload the scanned document from another matter into your current one. It has the functionally for you to upload and compare the two specific documents. 

Generator does this using AI.

Yes, Matter AI will produce a first draft, but users should always verify its response for accuracy.

Yes. You will need to ensure you're on the latest version of LEAP - version 2.5. You can do this by clicking here.

Yes, you can draft consent orders using Generator. However, we would recommend using LawY if you’d like a more tailored response. 

Yes. Generator uses relevant client and matter information stored in LEAP to help create the draft document. This means that important details are automatically populated, saving you time and reducing the risk of errors.
